The purpose of this organization
- to provide learning situations for the development of leadership, responsibility and effective citizenship.
- to provide educational and challenging experiences that will enable young people to become knowledgeable and skilled in their selected project areas.
- to help each member experience personal growth and achievement, as well as be of service to others.
Membership in this organization is open to all youth who have passed 9 years of age or be 8 years old and in the third grade and have not passed their 19th birthday by January 1st of the current 4-H program year. He/She must reside in San Juan County regardless of socioeconomic level, race, color, sex, national origin or disability. Cloverbuds are considered club members, but may participate as a subgroup of the club. He/She must have passed their 5th birthday and be in kindergarten but not have passed their 9th birthday before January 1st of the current 4-H program year. The 4-H program year is October 1st through September 30th.
Regular business meetings of this organization are held on the third Sunday of each month. Meetings are held at Huerfano Chapter House. Throughout the months of standard time (November-February), meeting time will be at 2:00 p.m. and the months of daylight savings time (March-October), meeting time will be at 3:00 p.m.

2018 New Mexico 4-H Adult Leader Forum – November 10, Cibola County Extension Office, Grants, NM
4-H Leaders and 4-H parents are invited to register for this annual statewide educational and fun event designed for adults working with the New Mexico 4-H Youth Development Program. A fillable registration form available for this event. Forms must be mailed to: NM 4-H Adult Forum, State 4-H Office, MSC 3AE, PO Box 30003, Las Cruces, NM 88003. Early registration prior to October 15 is $40. Late registration October 16-31 is $50. Registration includes program materials, lunch and breaks. NO REFUNDS AFTER OCTOBER 31.
2019 Senior Leadership Retreat – January 18-20, Hyatt Regency, Albuquerque, NM
During the event youth have the opportunity to attend workshops on personal development, team work, leadership, conquering fears, motivation, personalities and much more. In the evening the delegates will be challenged to show how they have mastered their dance skills. 2019 Senior Leadership Retreat is going to be held January 18-20 in Albuquerque, NM.
